An Untested Backup Is Just a Hope
Every business we talk to has backups. Far fewer have ever actually restored from one.
Backup jobs fail silently more often than people expect: a permissions change breaks the script, a storage bucket fills up, a schedule quietly stops firing after a server migration. The backup dashboard keeps showing green because nobody's checking whether the restore actually works — only whether the job "completed."
The fix is simple, and rarely done
Schedule a quarterly restore test. Pull a backup, restore it to a sandbox environment, and verify the data is actually usable. It takes an afternoon and it's the only way to know, with certainty, that your recovery plan works before you need it.
If that sounds like more process than your team has bandwidth for, that's exactly the kind of thing managed backup monitoring is built to handle.
